Earthtime has extensive experience supporting coastal defense strategies, including the implementation of critical hard infrastructure and soft, ecosystem-based adaptation measures to protect communities and assets from the imminent threat of recurrent and worsening flooding. Our work also focuses on identifying the most economically efficient and effective coastal protection measures, enhancing flood resilience, and developing climate adaptation action plans. By establishing a clear understanding of existing biological conditions, we can accurately assess the potential biodiversity impacts of proposed developments. In many locations, available information on marine and coastal biodiversity is limited; therefore, the Earthtime team conducts site-specific field surveys and integrates local ecological knowledge to establish robust baseline data for project-level assessments.
